2019-2020 Yearbook Information

Hello Coolidge Families!

Here are a few important updates on this year's 2019-2020 Coolidge Yearbook.  Please read the entire article to insure you get all of the information.

First, if you haven't done so already, please go to TreeRing.com and sign up to purchase your yearbook.  Our class code is: 1015355688193088

This year the yearbooks will be shipped directly to you.  If you have already purchased a yearbook, please login and add/update your mailing address to where you would like the yearbook sent.

Follow this link for detailed instructions:

If you have not yet purchased your yearbook you will be prompted to add your mailing address at the time of purchase.

NEW DEADLINES:

CUSTOM PAGES: The new deadline to customize your two free custom pages is Friday, May 8

PURCHASE DEADLINE: Since all yearbooks will be mailed directly to your home this year there isn't really a deadline to purchase it. TreeRing.com allows you to buy it until I start working on next year's book.  However, if you want to take advantage of the custom pages and low shipping price of $2.99 you must purchase your yearbook by Friday, May 15.  I cannot extend this deadline, so if you miss it you will have to pay the higher shipping fee of $8.99.

YEARBOOK COVER CONTEST:   All students are invited to enter their art in our yearbook cover contest. The winner’s artwork will be displayed on the front cover of the yearbook.  Even if their entry is not used on the cover, it may be used in other places throughout the book.

Have your student draw a picture on an 11x17 sheet of paper, horizontal orientation. (Don't have that size paper? No problem, use two pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 paper taped or glued together to make that size.) The image must be related to Coolidge, anything about Coolidge: school days, playground, classroom, teachers and students, school events, GET CREATIVE!

 All Entries Must Include:

•  Our school name:  Coolidge Elementary

•   The school year : 2019-2020

Tips for a Good Entry:

• Use lots of color, including the background.  Don’t leave uncolored white space.

• Mix up your medium, use crayons, watercolors, markers, pastels, collage, etc. Get creative!

• IMPORTANT: Do not add text too close to the edge of the page. Leave 1 inch of space around the edges, (no text) just color.  This will avoid print issues when the art is applied to the cover. Also, do not add text to the middle of the page where the binding of the book will be. You can gently fold your 11x17 paper in half, like a book, to see where the middle bind will be, avoid text too close to that area.

Once your student is done with their artwork please either scan it into your computer or take a picture with your phone and email me the entry.

TIPS FOR TAKING A GOOD PHONE PHOTO:

Try to use natural lighting.  Go outside or open a window to get the natural light in.

Lay the image flat on a hard surface.

Center the image in the center of the frame the best you can.

Make sure it's in focus.

Take and email the photo at the highest quality possible.
