Dear Cougar Families,
Please find below a zoom link for an information meeting about our upcoming Lockdown drill on Tuesday, February 13. The Zoom meeting has been scheduled from 12:00 PM-12:30 PM. Briefly, we will be holding a modified lockdown drill similar to the modified lockdown drill that we held back in November. While all doors will be secured, instructional activity will continue as usual. We will be using supportive and positive language that is student-friendly and developmentally appropriate.
I have received some parent messages expressing some concerns about the recent incident at Washington Elementary. While I cannot speak to what happened there, I am grateful for the trust and cohesiveness of our community. Please know that we have practiced fire, shelter-in-place, lockdown, and earthquake drills over the years. They are a necessary part of emergency preparedness. Please note that we have and will continue to follow best practices in this area.
